Company Overview

RotoQL is a B2C sports data and analytics start-up, based in NYC, that services three customer segments: daily fantasy players, season-long fantasy players, and sports bettors. Our customers pay us a monthly subscription to access a a suite of tools and data. We are a seven-figure revenue business, having acquired 200,000 users and over 15,000 paying customers through our mobile-first platform. We has raised nearly $5M to date from a strategic set of individuals (i.e. David Stern, Jim Pallotta, Ralph Topping) and institutions (i.e. Azure Capital, Don Best, Boston Seed Capital). 


We most recently closed a $3.25M seed round to, as described in this article in Legal Sports Report, to launch our sports betting data/analytics product. One of our investors, Benjie Cherniak (President at DonBest), commented: "RotoQL has established itself as a leader in the B2C fantasy space, as evidenced by their rapid growth and passionate user base. To elaborate on Benjie's comments, our rapidly growing user base of highly engaged fantasy players and sports bettors positions us to be a key ingredient in the US sports betting ecosystem. First, our products educate sports bettors which in turn increases their lifetime value to operators. Second, we are gathering lots of data on our users (i.e. preferences around sports/players/teams) which can be used to effectively drive traffic to select sports books. 


Role Definition


  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual tests and test data.

  • Create and setup and automated testing environment to handle common test cases

  • Reviewing and analyzing results of test cases and exercises.

  • Developing and maintain QA guidelines and process documentation.

  • Creation and documentation of test cases and bug reports

  • Analyze failures and collaborate with Software Engineers to ensure root cause is investigated.

  • Communicating with developers and business team clients on specific application issues.

  • Prioritizing QA issues and facilitate issue resolution.

  • Working with product or project managers to establish timing and ensure timely completion of QA elements.

  • Work in close collaboration with software developers and other test engineers to produce high quality product.

  • Preparing documentation summarizing test results and providing clear status reports.

Requirements

  • Experience with various testing methodologies and areas of focus, including regression testing, adhoc testing, security testing, user interface testing, integration testing, and user acceptance.

  • You must be a high achiever, ambitious, willing to work in a fast paced startup environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies

  • Experience in defining test environment requirements, set-up, and management.

  • Experience in multi-platform testing (desktop, mobile).
